Multiple Choice After-School Program
August 01, 2009
The Lexington Middle School will again offer the Multiple
Choices Program to all middle school students. Mrs. Patricia
Sanchez-Stewart will again serve as the Director of the Multiple
Choices Program. Ms. Karime Rios is the Program Coordinator. The
after school program is a 21st Century Community Learning Center
grant site. In addition to the 21st CCLC grant, additional funds
for the program come from Title I funds, Migrant funds and the
Lexington Public Schools general fund.
Multiple Choices is an academic skill building and homework
assistance program. The other program focus is enrichment
activities that allow students to expand their experiences through
hands-on activities not usually offered during the school day.
Community service and involvement are keys elements to the
program’s success.
All Multiple Choice Program participants are given a healthy snack at 3:25 and then disperse to either their academic center or enrichment class. The day is broken into three periods. Students must attend two sessions with the third being optional but strongly encouraged. The third session ends at 6:00pm. More program information including new program times, program staff, enrichment offerings will be available at www.lexingtonmiddleschool.org and in the Multiple Choices newsletter. If you have questions please contact the Lexington Middle School office at 324-2349.
