8th Grade Basketball vs. Gothenburg
Swedes Edge Minutemen 31-18

On Monday, February 1, the Lexington Minutemen 8th grade “A” Team traveled to Gothenburg to take on the Swedes. The Minutemen struggled early and had trouble finding the basket through the tough Swede defense.
After halftime, however, the Minutemen reenergized and started to play with intensity. With a full court press and determination, the Minutemen generated some turnovers for easy baskets. On offense, they pounded the ball to the posts inside, looking for layups and free-throws.
The Minutemen outscored the Swedes in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the first half deficit. The final score of the game was 31-18. The Minutemen will travel to Broken Bow on Thursday as they look to dominate the Indians.
